We are excited to announce our latest endeavor to support SARA’s Roots, our affordable housing program for survivors of sex trafficking: a mobile coffee shop! This innovative project will not only provide a sustainable source of income for our housing initiative but also create meaningful employment opportunities for survivors, empowering them with valuable life skills and professional development.
Why a Mobile Coffee Shop?
- Sustainable Income for Growth: The mobile coffee shop will serve as a social enterprise, generating ongoing revenue to support our SARA’s Roots Initiative. Every cup sold helps provide safe, affordable housing for survivors, allowing them to cultivate a new life rooted in security and support.
- Empowering Survivors Through Employment: Survivors of sex trafficking often face numerous obstacles as they work to rebuild their lives. Our mobile coffee shop will offer them a nurturing work environment guided by trauma-informed management. Here, survivors will gain valuable experience in customer service, business operations, and financial management—skills essential for cultivating self-sufficiency and independence.
- Teaching Life Skills and Professional Development: More than just a job, the coffee shop will be a place for learning and personal growth. Survivors will receive training in various aspects of running a business, from crafting the perfect cup of coffee to managing inventory and engaging with customers.
